About:

Making Kelham Famous in the summer of 2005. Martin and Stu were given a documentary assignment as part of their Media course. They decided a farcical look at the nature of fame was in order. They pounced on their unsuspecting victim Kelham and after establishing the fact that he had no interest in being famous convinced him he wanted to be the subject of the documentary.

The first port of call was the photographers. A young up and coming student with nothing better to do known only as Photography Sam was called in to get some publicity stills of the young Mr. K. The shoot took place at the seafront at Exmouth on a chilly September morning. Kelham merrily grinned and jumped about for the camera.

Comedian Ross Noble With images sorted a vast array of stickers, photos and press releases were dispatched upon on an suspecting public. Whilst they may not have realised it at the time lots upon lots of fans were getting caught up in Kelham Fandom, If it were still the sixties and if Kelham was a Beatle or a Dalek it might well have been referred to as 'Kelham-Mania'

and make a joke or Tooooo As hype mounted it was realised that Kelham needed to do something for this fandom rather than just sitting around looking gormless. It was decided that what Kelham really needed was a song. The Kelham Song. Music man producer Olly was called in to help out with the actual music stuff (You wouldn't really expect a celebrity like Kelham to have to do any of that would you?) This he did gladly as long as he was never associated was the pop tripe again (um sorry Olly...)

After this Kelham started getting appearing in such renowned publications as 'The Herald' Express' (covering most of Torbay!) and 'The Herald Express Website' (covering a bit further but still no one reads it)

but by this point BBC Radio Devon contacted the production team for an interview. which either meant we'd made something massive or (more likely) it was a quiet news day)

Stu on BBC RadioSo there it is, the story of how Alex Kelham shot from obscurity to slightly less obscured obscurity.

The film was edited over the course of a week by an ever more crazed Martin who spent 6 days working flat out to get the thing done. Nick Cook of Star Trek Intrepid fame was called in to do some narration. The film was screened in mid October 2005 where it went down like a house on fire (that's good when that happens)

Since the project was completed Kelham also got mentioned on ITV's daytime chat show 'Today with Des and Mel' you can see it on YouTube
