Broken Biscuit Gold
Here's some of our older films. Most of these were made for various college assignments between 2004 and 2006

and whilst they may not always have the same production values as our contemporary output we still love them for what they are.

Treason - A Trailer
This was shot in late 2004 as a trailer. The assignment was to make a trailer for a movie that didn't exist.

We knew this should involve shooting a few lines in one location, a few lines in another.

As this was going to be tricky we decided to use two main scenes.

On the eve of the second English civil war the minister of defence speaks out against the government.

There's also an army man running around shooting his gun.

Starring James Matthew-Stroud, Matt Watts, Nick Cooke and Alex S. Gray as Michael Burke.

Run time: 2 minutes                                                                                                                                                                 Watch the film on Youtube

In Amongst The City Lights
This was a follow up to "Flour" from September 2004. This was our first assignment coming back for the BTEC course.

We had two weeks to make a short, without really any limitation. The script was written in a weekend.

The original idea was the cops from "Flour" have to deal with a superhero coming to Exeter

and stopping so much crime that they couldn't meet their crime prevention quota.

So they have to get rid of the good gooder before they get demoted to traffic wardens.

We quickly realised that we weren't going to be able to use any of the super hero elements

and would only have time to shoot would what have been the first scene, so it was rewritten as a short

without the super hero elements so it doesn't really make sense.

Starring: Alex Kelham, Tom Taylor, Matt Watts

Run Time: 6 minutes                                                                                                                                                               Watch it on Youtube

Sticks and Balls
Not strictly a Broken Biscuit Production, but we'll host it anyway, This was made by Alex and Stu

who pop up in various Broken Biscuit films.

Erm these people get in a car, then there's a chase and aliens and things. usual student bollocks.

Run Time: 3 minutes                                                                                       Watch it on Youtube

48 Hour Movie Challenge "Flat Battery"

It was 9pm 2nd September '06 when I get a call from Broken Biscuits Graphics expert Richard B. Brookes gives me a call.

"Mart?"                                                                                                                      "Yeah?"                                                                                                                "Matt's Here"

This in itself surprised me, as Rich is 300 miles north in Birmingham.

"Do you want to make a movie tomorrow?"

So six hours later Myself and Matt are in an unoccupied Midlands student flat trying to get a bit of kip before picking up the entry details at 9am.  We were given the following guidelines

Genre: Drama
Title: Flat Battery
line: is that the best you can do.

The plot we devised was based upon a real life experience where Matt's van broke down on the way to Birmingham. Now as this didn't sound a very catchy premise I added a bit of fiction about how Rich had actually gone Renegade and it was up to us to stop him defecting to another production company. We had a bit of trouble with the weather on day one so we retreated into the edit room and luckily were able to get the rest of the shots when it dried off the next day.

Starring Martin Lejeune, Matt Watts and Richard B. Brookes as Alex Gray. Many Thanks go to our faithful production assistant Mark Danks

Run time: 5 minutes                                                                                                                                                                Watch it on Youtube

Gareth's Blog
This was a quick sketch I did one afternoon out of boredom and frustrations at a world where video blogs are not only viewed but encouraged. It was shot in one take and uploaded to youtube without editing [can't have a video blog looking stylish now can we?

Run time: 90 seconds                                                                                               Watch it on Youtube

The End Of World Hunger
Shot in early 2006, This was the result of my being given an assignment to make an "Experimental Film" a genre which I don't always have the most time for, because lets face it. Most of it is complete bollocks which wins festivals because the judges assume if they say they like it people will presume they must be extra clever.

I vaguely remember coming up with some bollocks about how its all a metaphor for sex, sorry Human sexuality. well if that's true,  I guess that chap at the ends having a wank... or something.

Run time: 2 minutes
